2013/2014 season is well under way for the Nyngan Little Athletics Club.
Our first club night on October 10 started in unseasonably hot conditions, but about 70 children and their parents braving the heat and participating in fun activities which helped to show what Little Athletics is all about.
The club numbers have more than doubled this year, with 73 children registered compared to 36 last year. This has made for an exciting and promising start to the season.
The second club night, on October 17, the first week of the competition program, couldn’t have seen more differing weather conditions, with a cold change and the threat of rain looming over our heads.
We look forward to week two of the program this Thursday, and Sunday will see many families travel to Wellington for the first carnival of the season, the Wellington Gala Day.
Families travelling to Wellington are reminded to ensure that the correct club uniform is worn. Registration is on the day.
In addition to being excited by the enthusiasm of our many new families and children, it has been good to see so many children returning for yet another season of athletics and fun.
Many of the children form the Nyngan Little Athletics Club have had successful school athletics seasons through the winter, putting into practice the skills that they have learnt and developed through Little A’s.
We look forward to seeing what some of these kids can do this season.
If you are interested in joining, come along to the Apex Oval from 4.30pm on Thursdays and talk to our president Michelle Blake, or club secretary Monique Wye.
