EMERGENCY crews were called to an accident involving two trucks in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
One of the vehicles was parked at the truck stop across from the Urunga BP Service Station, and the other was travelling south.
It is believed the southbound truck clipped the parked vehicle, pushing it some metres.
The parked vehicle was transporting steel rods, and it’s understood the driver was filling out his log book at the time. The other truck was transporting sugar.
Both drivers sustained moderate injuries however the damage to the trucks was extensive.
The inside lane at the beginning of the southbound 80kph zone was shut down as soon as emergency crews arrived.
